hi everyone!
you might recall that back in June I sent out a newsletter about how i’m moving away from using this one in order to focus on the new Queers N Peers substack newsletter, which my roommate Babz and I started as a companion to the variety show we host.
that’s still true! we’ve published quite a bit since then. i’ve rounded up our most recent posts here; i hope you’ll consider subscribing. paid subscriptions are affordable and help support us and our performers!
for our second edition, i wrote about cooking some of the tastiest, most attractive mushrooms i’ve encountered thus far and interviewed my friend Harlow, a visual artist and musician:
after that, i recounted the delicious, fresh food and lovely communal cooking experiences i had with my friends in North Jersey:
then, i briefly chatted with our second show’s performers and talk about a lentil salad that doubles as a tasty blueprint for your own creations:
if you didn’t make it to our last show (which was also our first backyard BBQ show), you can read all about it here! babz talks about the cooking process, and i talk about what it means to be doing shows again:
then our most recent edition took a bit of a pivot, exploring viral internet content that piqued our interests. mine was the “jennifer aniston salad” which i also made (spoiler: it is good, but i made it better), and babz’s was some strange north korean videos their tiktok fyp showed them.
ok, now that you’ve made it this far (thanks!), I figured i should say that i just finished taking improv level 2, and our class show is next thursday 9/8 at brooklyn comedy collective. come if you want!!!!
